In brief: Plugged ears

Check your ears with your pcp dr. If you have too much wax in your ears you may try to soften it by applying baby oil or glycerine oil or debrox or Cerumenex inside the ears for 4 consecutive nights before someone tries to flush it out or aspirated.
Other possibilities are mucus in the eustachian tubes caused by cold, flu, viruses or infection.

In brief: Wax?

Although, there are various reasons for the ears to be plugged up, often, plain wax build up is least frequently thought of, yet being a reason for the plugginess.
Ear and nose infections are another cause. You may want to have it checked out.
