Severe back pain over left ribs?

Likely muscular. Back pain over the ribs that does not radiate and is not associated with numbness or weakness of the legs is generally muscular or due to irritation of the rib joint that connects to the spine. These conditions are generally self limiting.
Could me muscular . Pleurisy , lung/heart condition , from trauma or strenuous activity etc get examined for reassurance!
