I was told I have a cyst at the upper pole of my spleen. What does that mean?

In brief: Probably nothing

These are usually similar to the trivial cysts that folks get under their skin.
If your physician is not concerned, i would not be either.

In brief: Probably nothing

Congenital cysts are not uncommon, and occur in the liver, spleen, pancreas, and kidneys.
If you have an isolated cyst which is not symptomatic, then you have little to worry about. Your doctor will help with any follow up imaging, but that should be minimal. Good luck.
