When laying on my back for a long period of time my right hand and forearm go completely numb every time is this normal? Should I be worried

Perhaps. If this is entirely positional, it may be related to a musculoskeletal cause such as arthritis of the neck. While this is often treated conservatively by nsaids and physical therapy, you should first see your doctor for a full evaluation and physical exam.
No, not normal. No these symptoms are not normal, but with appropriate evaluation, this condition can likely be properly diagnosed and treated effectively. Contact your doctor to discuss these symptoms and allow him/her to examine you and obtain necessary testing. Once he/she has a reasonable impression, he/she will organize a treatment plan for you.
