I've taken 7 lortab 10's today and can't take more, but I have a tooth abscess and can't sleep would it be safe to take an ibuprofen 600?

In brief: Priorities

The first order of business is to manage the abscess! this means a dentist or oral surgeon to open and drain the infection and prescribe antibiotics and follow you to make sure problem #1 is resolving.
Next is everything else: analgesics, heat, nutrition, bedrest, & supportive care. The Ibuprofen will help with swelling, pain, & fever. The narcotics will only help with severe pain as needed.

In brief: Care, not meds

It would probably be safe, but it is essential that you seek professional care (local dentist, emergency room, etc).
Throwing medication at the problem, rather than addressing the cause of it is unwise. An untreated abscess can cause much more severe consequences. Seek treatment as soon as possible.

In brief: Yes

Ibuprofen is the better drug than lortab to reduce the swelling which in the case of tooth abscess exerted pressure on the nerve and cause pain.
Ibuprofen is nonsteroidal antiinflammatory (analgesic, reduce swelling), where as lortab is more of Codeine (cns, sleepy effect) and Acetaminophen (analgesic, reduce fever) which does not reduce swelling effectively as much.
