What effects, if any, do antibiotics have on hormones in the mirena (levonorgestrel) IUD ? Does it reduce effectiveness similar to that of oral bcps ?

In brief: Likely no effect.
Few, if any, of the commonly used antibiotics will have any affect on bcp efficacy.
However, there are some antibiotics (used primarily to treat tuberculosis - tb) that can decrease the effectiveness of bcp's. It is not likely that any of those antibiotics (even those used to treat tb) would have any impact on the efficacy of the Mirena (levonorgestrel) or any of the other progestin only contraceptives (the shot).
