In brief: Different drugs

The're both sympathomimetic amines, but different drugs.
Ephedrine (ephedrine sulfate) so4 is given IV or subcut. It's more peripheral in action -- and is used to relax some smooth muscle and counteract hypotension from anesthesia or other drugs. Adderall is given orally, and is more active centrally -- in brain where it helps counteract symptoms of adhd. Ephedrine (ephedrine sulfate) hcl [but not so4] can be taken orally.
