In brief: OCD

Obsessive compulsive disorder (ocd) consists of obsessive fears of bad things happening and the compulsions are behaviors that are believed to avoid the bad things from happening.
For example repetitive handwashing to avoid germs or repetitive checking locks to avoid being robbed. By definition, the fears are irrational and the compulsions continue despite knowledge that they are unnecessary.

In brief: Several

They are all serious to the extent that they interfere with your quality of life.
--- checking, counting, rituals, hand washing, fear of germs, and repeated unwanted thoughts. Because they occur in the same art of the brain, they may be affiliated with stuttering, tics, trichotillomania, & tourette's syndrome.

I wonder if you are asking: If you obsesses about doing some harmful thing will you be likely to act on it? Negative obsessions are usually represent things the patient is afraid they might do and don't want to. Telling yourself that this bad thought is something you will never do and fear is often comforting.

In brief: Obsessions and/or

Obsessions are unrealistic fears or worries and compulsions are physical or mental acts that are done to decrease the anxiety that the obsessions produce. These things interfer with a person's ability to function, occupy time, and rob a person of peace. It's almost as if your own brain has betrayed you.
