Rogaine (minoxidil) only acts directly where it is applied.
Men put it on their scalp in the front receding hairline area of in the back circle of hair loss. Women get more of a female pattern baldness when is overall equal hair loss from the entire scalp. You may use rogaine (minoxidil) for this, but be sure to wash your hands so you don't transfer it to areas where you don't want hair growth to be encouraged!
