In brief: GRAY HAIR

When there is lack of melanin (dark pigment) in the body, there is also lack of melanin in the hair follicles.
Melanin is the dark substance that gives skin & hair their coloring. As we get older, the body slows down the production of melanin. Therefore, fewer dark hairs. Some drugs can cause dark hair, & stress & tension are said to be responsible for graying hair. Gray hair is also inherited.
