Technically its called a "stenotic cervical os".
It can cause painful periods. It could possibly, but not usually, cause infertility. It's unusual to have a stenotic os without having had a previous procedure done on your cervix. A gynecologist should be able to tell on an exam, but might not mention it, if symptoms weren't discussed previously. Also, another type of md might miss it.
