In order to properly treat this you should go to a physician and allow them to conduct a complete history, physical exam and obtain any necessary imaging to confirm an appropriate diagnosis. Options may include but are not limited to physical therapy, chiropractic, pain management, and an orthopedic consultation.

In brief: Possibly

Follow up with your orthopedic specialist for an accurate assessment. Xray and/or MRI of the knee would confirm the dx. You may take nsaids and heat application would work for now. Avoid strenuous exercise esp strenuous exercise, jumping or running etc best wishes!
