In brief: Not usually

Most of my patients do very well after carpal tunnel surgery and recover rapidly.
Therapy is rarely necessary. However, some of my older patients seem to benefit from a few weeks of therapy, especially those who develop significant postoperative swelling or stiffness.

Will depend on what type of technique is used.
Therapy is less likely with endoscopic technique, but may not even be necessary with open surgery.
