Father suffering from pulmonary fibrosis having cough and short breathing during cough. Is there any medication for pulmonary fibros.

Unfortunately no. In europe, perferidone has been approved, but the fda did not approve the medication in the usa with the same data. Thus, physicians try to treat the symptoms and at times try immunosuppressive medications to help our patients.
Possibilities... Pulmonary fibrosis is due to scarring in the lungs. There is no specific therapy for the fibrosis itself but the cough may be related to bronchospasm. This can be treated with bronchodilator and steroid inhalers which could improve the cough and the related shortness of breath. He should see his doctor for diagnosis and treatment. If he smokes, he needs to quit! Good luck!
