I have high blood pressure, which I am currently taking medication for. Last night, I didn't get a goodnight's rest & my BP ls high, is this common?

Sleep is critical. Sleep loss the night before can raise systolic BP (the top number) as much as 10 mm/hg. 10 points is about the maximum amount of benefit you would expect from a medication. When combined with chronic sleep loss, stress becomes a major factor and can cause even higher elevations in blood pressure and nullify the benefits of a medication.
Yes, stress ... Yes stress can cause both things ( so can caffeine, or other stimulants).
Yes. Lack of sleep commonly increases blood pressure. If you are watching yours make sure you have several nights of good sleep and haven't been sick before you check.
