Many causes. Men can have an inherited form of hair loss that is caused by male hormones. When older women stop having periods, they too can develop this male hormone type or hair loss. Both men and woman can have hair loss from thyroid disease, anemia, drugs like chemotherapy drugs, and stress and illness. There are treatments for many kinds of hair loss that a dermatologist can provide.

Orals and Topicals. There are many products that may help one regrow lost hair. However, it is important to determine the cause of your hair loss by having a full evaluation. Olive oil probably will have no effect on regrowing hair and will serve only to make your hair feel greasy!
Biotin. Vitamin b12, biotin, zinc, copper are necessary for healthy hair growth.

What's are some good shampoo's for manual hair loss and thinning? I've been using dr. Bronners. I think it caused the problem and brushing with nylon.
Anaphase. There is an excellent new shampoo for thinning hair that my patients love. It is from the company called glytone and the name of the shampoo is anaphase revitalizing cream shampoo. It is only available through drs offices but I'm sure you can find it on line.
