Make sure your room's sleep friendly: dark, not noisy, no glowing lights by your bed (charging phones, computerss).
No caffeine, even in the morning. No electronics 1 hr before bed. Some remedies: melatonin, valerian root, chamomile tea, l-tryptophan (if not taking ssris), over the counter antihistamines like generic chlortrimeton or benadryl (diphenhydramine). Most of all, check out the cause of your insomnia.
