In brief: See pain specialist
There can be several reasons for leg pain (even without back pain) including lumbar disc degeneration, muscle inflammation, facet joint arthritis/irritation, sacroiliac joint arthritis/irritation, nerve irritation.
A thorough physical exam and diagnostic studies will help determine what treatment will be best depending on your diagnosis. See a board certified pain specialist. For evaluation.

In brief: Might not be spinal
Theres a thing called meralgia parasthetica.
It's a compression of the lateral cutaneous nerve of the thigh as it crosses the pelvic brim. It would cause pain and burning over the outer thigh. If that sounds like your pain, try wearing looser clothing, loosen any belts (tool belts, etc) and try weight loss. If none of those help, see your doctor.
