The nice thing about this antibiotic is it attaches to fat cells in your body & gradually re-enters the blood to kill off the germs over a week or so.
If you were both treated at the same time you were both at about the same level of cure/infection. There is a possibility you both had enough abx in your system to prevent re-infection, but the suggested delay was made for a reason. Time will tell.
