I have my foot swollen from gout, what is the most effective treatment for it?

Anti-inflammatories. Acute gout is best treated with anti-inflammatory medications. Naproxyn, indomethacin, Ibuprofen and many other type drugs work well. Some physicians will use steroid drugs like prednisone. This all depends on your medical history and medicaitons you are on. Colchinine works very wee also but is an older treatment. All have side effects. Not all are comfortable using colchicine.
Indocin, (indomethacin) Colchicine. Indocin (indomethacin) and Colchicine are the primary drugs for gouty attacks. Other anti inflammatories or steroids can be used too. More important is to see your doctor to have baseline tests and have a plan to prevent attacks which can involve medicine and dietary changes.
