Is there something that can be put in a child's ear for pain until they can see a doctor?

Better not. Auralgan can cause topical relief. But it's better to check w ur pediatrician first for an ear exam, rule out ear drum perforation before putting anything topical in your child's ear. Meanwhile, for pain tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin are very effective for ear pain until checked by doc.
. Try over the counter medication like auralgan (benzocaine and antipyrine). But again pain is just a symptom of some underlying problem. See physician to check if needs to be treated with antibiotic.
