In brief: Easy...dental floss!

A waterpik and/or airflosser are great products, however they are not a replacement for good flossing habits--they are a replacement for not flossing.
This is not the same thing. These tools can be incorporated in your regular dental home care to stimulate gum tissue and help clean around braces or under dental bridges but it is still not better than floss. Sorry to be the bearer of this news.

In brief: Both

For many patients a water pic in addition to flossing helps dislodge food and soft buildup in areas difficult to floss.
You and your dentist will know if you need a dual approach!

In brief: Dental Floss

A water pick does not remove as much plaque as dental floss.

In brief: Dental floss

Waterpik is an adjunctive therapy where dental floss is a main part of oral hygiene (brushing and flossing).
However, if your gum is healthy (does not bleed, firm, light pink color), it should not matter what you use. It is result that matter, not the way to get the result!
