Probably not. It is important to follow the directions of your doctor with those meds. However it is usually not useful to be on those two meds at the same time.
I usually take hydroxyzine 10mg at bedtime daily for anxiety. On days when I'm more anxious, I sometimes take klonopin (clonazepam). 25mg, usually once a week. Ok?
OK. That is okay but also discuss this with your own doctor as well.
Teratogenecity. There has been no study proving the teratogenicity of hydroxyzine, at least not different from placebo or natural course of pregnancy. Klonopin (clonazepam) belongs to the family of ativan. There is no clear study (as it may be unethical) to prove the teratogenicity of this group but craniofacial problems, nerve migration and development problems have been noted when these are taken esp at 2nd trimester.
I have been on klonopin for aneixty its the only thing that works for me personally just got vistaril (hydroxyzine) for aniexty to is it safe to take both?
Yes. They work differently. The combo will make you drowsy. You may want to ask your doc what other options are available as Klonopin (clonazepam) is addictive.
Be careful. They are both sedatives so if you took sufficiently high doses at bedtime you may cause yourself to stop breathing although in clinical practice that would be rare. As long as you are not taking more than five milligrams of Clonazepam a day then any amount of Hydroxyzine up to about 100 mg a day would likely be tolerated. There are exceptions to these principles so talk to a doctor about this.
No. Would increase risk of CNS depression and psychomotor impairment, better drop one of them, good that you asked, always exercise caution with multiple medications, wish you wellness.
Interactions. Yes. Additive and sedative (sedating) effects. You might not have problems but they can augment each other.
