In brief: Infectious arthritis

Lyme disease is name for a town on connecticut.
Mothers in this area noted a lot of their children were getting juvenile arthritis. Epidemiologists confirmed this and investigators found the cause to be related to tick bites by a small deer tick -of ixodes species. This bite was found to transmit an infectious bacterium borrelia burgdorferi and therapy is directed at treating this infection.
