In brief: Omega 3

There are 2 types: marine & plant based.
Marine fish oil is epa found in cold water fish like salmon, tuna, mackeral, trout & sardines. Plant based ala is found in soybeans, walnut, seaweed, chia and flax seeds/powder. Marine based is more effective but if you can't do it, plant based will work but will need to double the dose to be effective. 1-2gr =prevention, 2-4gr=treatment; 4-6gr=arthritis.

If you're not getting them in your diet (oily fish like salmon, tuna), then a supplement may be wise. If you have high cholesterol/triglycerides, omega-3s (2000-3000 mg a day) may help lower blood fat levels. Get the enteric-coated variety to prevent "fish-burp" taste the rest of the day.
