The swollen lymph node especially if relatively acute indicates your body is trying to fight off some type of infection...Viral, bacterial, etc. The shoulder pain if in the same area as the lymph node is likely referred pain or involved in the process. I've a swollen lymph node in my neck for some time now, my doc says it's nothing but I'm starting to worry as sometimes I get shoulder and ear pain?
