Shooting pain in lungs not always on both lung the same time. When it happens and I inhale it gets worst. Thought the pain comes from my heart but blood results was fine?

CXR Lung function. I believe a lung function test +/- chest ray- depending on what your doctor believes- will be more helpful in reaching a diagnosis. I don't believe a blood test would reveal anything in your case. If your family doctor can't help you, get a 2nd opinion. Read more...

I have a shooting pain in my heart that comes and goes should I go to the doctor?

I am a 28 year male with shooting pain down my right arm, its not constant. Is it a nerve or heart thing?

Probably nerve. Because of your age, the fact that it is your right arm and not the left, and because you do not mention chest pain, this is most likely caused by pressure on the nerve. This commonly occurs in the neck, elbow area, or wrist. Tests could localize the problem if the symptoms persist. Read more...

Fine self-care. 1st - While it's not impossible, at your age/gender a cardiac problem is rare. Next, if it really improves w/ your good technique, it's not likely to be a major physical illness. It's most likely anxiety causing your breathing pattern to get out of wack and that imbalances blood chemistry. You put in back into wack (normal). If you'd want more help talk to a therapist, but I think you've got it! Read more...

My friend is having chest pains sometimes near her heart sometimes a shooting pain in the centre of her torso/chest what could this be? [email protected]

Most likely trivial. Her young age and the characteristics of her pain (random occurrence), makes it exceedingly unlikely for it to be of cardiac origin;a visit to her pcp is advisable to help better define the cause of the pain. Read more...
Nerve pain. Fleeting, sharp shooting pains lasting seconds in the chest area may be due to pinching of the nerves that run between the ribs. These may be accentuated with a deep breath. Heart pains are not usually sharp and fleeting. Rib problems may cause sharp pains but usually have a tender spot also. Fleeting pains in the esophagus and lung pains are less likely causes of fleeting sharp chest pains. Read more...
