In brief: Breast implants

There is no hard fast rule about having breast implants exchanged.
They are technically not permanent implants but unless there is a problem or you need a lift/size change there is no true need to replace them. Many women will decide to change them for size, if they develop capsular contracture (scarring around the implant), deflation, or at the same time as a lift.

In brief: Perhaps

It appears they aren't leaking or causing you pain.
If so you don't need to replace them unless you are having issues with them.

In brief: No

Feeling rippling with saline implants is expected and is part of the characteristics of saline implants.
If you are thin, you will feel it even more. It does not mean that you need to change them. Unless you want to switch them for silicones.

In brief: Not Necessarily.

If the "rippling" you feel is of minor concern, probably not necessary to change the breast implant.
However, one option that you do have is to exchange the saline for silicone breast implants which may be associated with a softer feel ( possibly less rippling). Generally speaking, when it comes to breast implant exchange timing, there are no absolute rules. “if it ain't broke, don't fix it”.
