Can the liver repairs itself after a gall bladder removal?

Liver repair. Liver should not be affected after gallbladder surgery at all. During gallbladder removal from the live they'll have been some bleeding but no permanent damage occurs .
Yes. A routine gallbladder removal operation does not injure the liver, and so there is nothing to repair. Even is there is slight tearing or damage to the liver capsule, which can happen in cases where the gallbladder is very inflamed, it will repair itself without problem.

I had emergency laparoscopic gall bladder removal 6 days ago. My ALT was 181, AST 127, AP 163, Glucose 168, and lipase 9. 1mo. Before, all were normal. They did not retest my blood. Now I have UTI & given cedifinir. Afraid it will affect liver.

LFT's. I would not worry about that particular antibiotic in this setting, but I do think it is important at some point, when ever your surgeon deems most appropriate, to recheck the liver tests to be sure that they normalize. If they do, and if your bile duct was normal in size, you should be fine. Good luck. Read more...

I had emergency laparoscopic gall bladder removal 2 weeks ago. I am still getting discomfort on back and upper right abdomen. I am afraid of bike leak or stone. Is it normal to still feel discomfort after 2 weeks? My liver enzymes retured to normal.

Yes. If there was inflammation or infection prompting an emergency gall bladder removal, then some level of discomfort for several weeks after the procedure is normal. Bile leak would cause significant abdominal pain, and a retained stone in the bile ducts would cause more intense and cramping pain. If any fever, see your doctor immediately! Read more...
