In brief: Talking Clomid (clomiphene)
The purpose in waiting for your period before taking Clomid (clomiphene) is two fold 1.
Your probably not pregnant 2. Sets they timing for ovulation and expected menses. You can still take the drug if you don't have your period, but you first have to be certain that you're not pregnant. Best check with your gynecologist.

In brief: It depends
It depends on why you're not having a period.
If you have great ovaries but just don't have the proper hormonal stimulation, then it's possible that Clomid (clomiphene) might be the perfect thing to try. If you don't have periods because your ovaries are depleted of eggs, then Clomid (clomiphene) is of no benefit.
