How long does it take to ovulate after finishing birth control?

Not long. Usually a woman will resume ovulation within 1-3 months of stopping a birth control pill. If it takes much longer than this, you should see your doctor to check for other causes of ovulation problems. One exception to this is that there are some forms of contraception, such as a depo-provera injection, that can have residual effects on ovulation for as long as a year. Good luck!
