In brief: Antinuclear Antibody

An "ana" is a blood test used to screen a person for the possibility of several autoimmune diseases.
It is important to remember that this is a screening test and a positive result only indicates more testing may be warranted. No blood test is perfect, and getting to a diagnosis is usually much more complex than drawing blood and looking at a number on the results report.

In brief: Not ANA!

An ANA is falsely-present in 5% of the population.
I'm sure a reflex ANA was done by the rheumatology specialists you saw, and this would help pick up a diagnosis. Cold hands are not raynaud's, and frequently a sign of stress! however, high thyroid levels do to grave's, an over active "hot nodule, " and taking to much thyroid could explain your sx!
