In brief: Blood vessels

CT angiograms of the abdomen show the arteries and veins.
The can be obtained to evaluate the blood flow into or out of many organs. Please consult your doctor as to why the exam was done.

In brief: Arteries and organs

A cta used to see the vessels feeding the organs, including the aorta, and the arteries to kidneys, liver, spleen, and intestines.
They might be looking for renal artery stenosis, one cause for uncontrolled high blood pressure, or vasculitis, but it depends completely on your history and the reason for the test. Ask your provider. The scan also shows the organs, but less than standard ct timing.
