Are tanning bed burns worse than sunburns? Am a little red today after tanning in a aroma therapy bed for 10min but no discomfort like w/ a sunburn.

In brief: Just as bad

Tanning beds use ultraviolet rays similar to the sun.
Although these are less likely to cause burning they still cause damage to the structure of the skin and can lead to skin cancers.

In brief: Both are bad.

Whether sunburned by the sun or by a tanning booth it is still damage to the skin, resulting in increased melanoma risk for you.
That is without factoring in cumulative damage to your skin that increases your non melanoma skin cancer risk not to mention premature aging of your skin. Rather than tanning, use sunless tanning products or bronzers to get the "tanned" look without the skin damage.
