In brief: Facial pain

Could be a sinus infection or even an eye infection.
Adenoviral infections will typically give a unilateral pre-auricular lymph nose and pain/discharge from same sided eye.

In brief: Probably the jaw

Pain in the jaw is frequently mistaken for "ear pain" and all too often improperly treated with antibiotics.
If you have pain when you chew or pain when touching areas around your jaw joint and no significant change in your hearing you most likely have a jaw muscle issue. A soft diet, antiinflammatory medication, ice and a consultation with your dentist are recommended.
