My progesterone was 122 at 5 weeks pregnant. My hCG levels were 978 then 3846. Can this be indicative of twins possibly?

In brief: Wide variation in

Hcg levels. There is wide variation in HCG levels in normal pregnancies and HCG level is not a reliable indicator of twin pregnancy.
You may wish to consult this site for info and see your doctor for an ultrasound exam to look for twins. http://americanpregnancy.org/duringpregnancy/hcglevels.html.
