Respiratory syncitial virus---this is a common virus that is most prevalent in the spring and fall and usually affect children.
It is of more concern with the very small infant or the infant or child with underlying medical problems usually respiratory in nature (asthma). It causes swelling, mucous and constriction of the small airways and can be a real threat to health or can be a major nuiassa.

In brief: Dominant URI virus

Rsv is the dominant respiratory virus in season, here nov-apr.It enters the airways & injures cells causing an outpouring of mucous.
In some smaller babies, the mucous flow blocks oxygen entry & leads to major problems;in most older kids or adults it doesn't go as deep & may only cause a runny nose.I've seen asthma sufferers have trouble with it to age 8. U can get it every yr/ minimal immunity dvps.
