Grunting might be normal if your infant is trying to stool, if constipation is an issue this can be addressed, however grunting can also be the sign of serious illness particularly if it has been ongoing since birth.
If cyanosis (blueness often notable around the mouth or lips) is present this would be a reason to call 911.
