Pinky and ring fingers of both hands have fingernails that seem to be eating away, what could this be? All other fingernails look normal.

Fungus or other. Most likely this might be a fungal infection or vitamin/nutritional deficiency. Have a doctor look at your nails, take some nail scrapings or samples, perhaps some blood tests to get your answer and treat this condition.
