On average, participants who ate half a grapefruit with each meal lost 3.6 pounds, while those who drank a serving of grapefruit juice three times a day lost 3.3 pounds. Some pt lost > 10 lbs.

By itself it does nothing to help you lose weight. As a replacement in the diet, substituting for higher calorie foods, it will help you lose weight due to calorie restriction. The added fiber and vitamins are also more nutritious then the juice alone, so enjoy!
