In brief: ITP is not infection

I'm not sure what you are referring to.
Itp means idiopathic thrombocytoenic purpura and is a problem with an unexplained drop is someone's platelet count. It is felt to be autoimmune. There is a theory that it can be precipitated by a viral infection- especially in kids. I'm not sure if herpes virus has specifically been linked to itp in children, but i imagine that it could be.
