In brief: Limited laxity.

A mini adominoplasty is for those with limited laxity of the abdominal wall and soft tissues as well as rectus diastasis or splaying of the rectus muscles that is limited to the infero-umbilical area (below your belly button).
This procedure has a much smaller scar typically similar to a c-section type of scar.

In brief: Mini TT Candidate

It you have limited skin overhang of the lower tummy and you are skinny then a mini-tummy tuck would most likely be worth it.
See a board certified plastic surgeon to be sure.

In brief: Very few

Very few patients are good candidate for mini tummy tuck.
It would be a thin patient with good muscle tone and very minimal lower abdominal excess skin.

In brief: Limited

Mini tummy tuck is good for those with a tiny amount of excess skin below the belly button.
Mini tummy tuck usually means mini results. Visit with a board certified plastic surgeon to see whats correct for you.

In brief: Few are chosen

Although the name of the mini tummy tuck sounds cute, it doesn't work for 9/19 women, because it doesn't do enough.
It only takes out a little bit of skin, a few stretch marks, and corrects some lower abdominal laxity. Most women have central or upper abdo laxity, and get a much, much better result from a standard tummy tuck.

In brief: See video 4 options!

Check out this video on youtube: http://youtu.
Be/djmer5b5bx4 it reviews the differences of the different types of tummy tucks (witch hazel) including minis which are great for li tied lower abdominal issues with an intact upper belly (no loose skin or muscles around or above umbilicus). It works great for c-sections scar revision with mild lower tummy muscle and skin laxity.

In brief: Very rare patient

It is very rare to find a patient that only has redundancy of the lower abdominal skin without a significant amount of muscles separation.
These are really the only good candidates for a mini tummy tuck.

In brief: Lower belly issues

The mini tummy tuck canidate typically has minor skin excess localized in the lower abdomen and muscle weakness from the belly button down.
In these patients, the incisions can be minimized and frequently the belly button can be left intact.

In brief: Rare Patient

In my opinion, the mini tummy tuck is an  operation that  produces very limited results and is very rarely indicated.
It involves a shorter incision but does not address the majority of the abdominal wall issues present for most patients who present consultation. Seek consultation with well experienced board-certified plastic surgeons.
