Good news is that no seizure medication is more harmful than untreated epilepsy.
More good news: lamictal has been shown to improve quality of life in those with special needs and not slow learning in "typicals." Clonazepam may lead to some slowing, however if it is the lowest dose of the most effective medication, it is less worrisome then the seizures.
