There is no evidence that cracking knuckles increases tyour risk for arthritis. It is not necessary tho. Many people crack their backs...I call it self adjustment. If there is no pain there is not a problem. If you are doing it to relieve some ache or discomfort, then see a DO or chiropractor to check you. If there is overt pain, see your physician first.
