Most likely you are having something that used to be called "globus hystericus.
" the classic "lump in the throat feeling" we now know is often due to spasm of the upper throat muscle that is supposed to relax when you swallow. This muscle hates acid and stomach juice and if you are having reflux (even if no heartburn) it can cause this muscle to tighten. Stop all acids and try Zantac (ranitidine) . Then see md.
