Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone) usually causes periods to stop, but it also has irregular bleeding as a fairly common side effect. 90% of users of Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone) stop bleeding completely, but it can take months for that to happen and some people have or develop irregular bleeding bc of the depo.
