Should avelox be prescribed as a first response for a sinus infection?

Depends. Avelox is an excellent antibiotic to treat sinus infections. In case someone develops recurrent infections, it may be chosen as first line. If someone does not get sinus infections regularly, i would start with something else. But it also depends on the individuals' previous drug allergies/reactions. This is a complex decision to make.
ItCanBe In someCases. Most Sinus infections are caused by viruses. If your doctor suspects it is caused by Bateria with purulent nasal discharge with foul smell with or without temperature Avelox may be a good choice.
