NO. Tonsil stones are a mechanical problem which has to do with accumulation of debris in the pits (crypts) of tonsils. Antibiotics may temporarily reduce surrounding irritation or any odor associated with the stones but will not cure the problem. Usually, there is no role for antibiotics in the treatment of stones.
None. Tonsil stones are usually not a sign of infection and won't likely respond to antibiotics. My patients usually will do something like use a water pick or qtip to work them out. The only way to prevent them is to remove your tonsils.
