In brief: Sex when pregnant

If pregnancy is uncomplicated, sexually intercourse is generally fine.
However, if concern with vaginal bleeding or preterm delivery/labor exists, then pelvic rest including sex is usually recommended.

In brief: Sex during pregnancy

If you are not pregnant then please specify.
Sexual activity especially penetration may stimulate the uterus to have contractions. If there is any vaginal bleeding, or abdominal contractions during pregnancy sexual activity must be avoided. At the end of pregnancy sex may cause the rupture of the corioamniotic bag triggering labor. Otherwise sex is most of the time well tolerated during pregnancy.
