In brief: Hard to say

Allergies can often cause sneezing.
...But usually not pain. It is best to see your doctor so they can check your nose and any other symptoms.

Some persons have sensitivity to environmental irritants called "non-allergic rhinitis". An allergist might help you with confirming this diagnosis

In brief: Non-Allergic

Rhinitis, or inflammation of the nose, does not necessarily have to be caused by allergies.
There are multiple non-allergic causes, the most common of which is vasomotor rhinitis (vmr). There are specific triggers in regards to vmr such as smoke, weather/barometric pressure changes, strong odors or positional changes.
